Details of change
An add-on C-BIOS library or a CODESYS XML import file is available. If

Alert impact
Due to component discontinuation, STW was forced in early 2023 to
use another bi-color LED type with some changed optical
characteristics, esp. the LED chip for red color is some brighter than
it was before.
This results in a dim red glowing, even if the LED is switched off by
software via function x_sys_set_led().
Further, the predefined colors X_SYS_LED_COLOR_ORANGE and
X_SYS_LED_COLOR_YELLOW do not result in the expected color
shade.
Since several years, the market for bi-color LED provides no
alternatives that suit to the ECU requirements.
Unfortunately, there is no hardware solution available for ESX.3xm to
solve this issues.
Software strategy for customers with application programming in C:
STW can provide a small add-on library incl. some xt_sys_led_...()
functions that will avoid the red glowing and will adapt the yellow /
orange color shade. However, this requires an update and
recompilation of existing application software.
This add-on library might be used for all parts with serial number
(T_x_sys_logistic_data.au8_SerialNumber) 230000121713 or higher,
but an appropriate "if-serial-number-above-check" in the application
software is recommended. Please note, that this add-on function
should not be used on parts with serial number below 230000121713
as this would have unwanted impact regarding the color shade.
Software strategy for customers with application programming in
CoDeSys:
STW can provide a XML file that might be imported to CODESYS and
solves the "shifted color shading" issue by changed scaling of
ou16_Color via new FB_xtSysLedSet (instead of original
FB_x_sys_set_led) or via new "I/O Mapping"
FB_xtSysLedColorRemap. This routines also ensure a correct
handling of old vs. new LED type (by checking if ECU serial number
lower/higher than SerN 230000121713). However, there is no solution
available in CODESYS for the "dim red glowing".
